Question about Sharp Heating & Cooling
I fixed this problem by disassembling the panels. On the front then sides then back of the unit. The first thing I noticed was some debris in the exhaust fan wheel on the back side. I used some long wood skewer to fish out the debris and even shook the unit upside down. (It's very heavy and would recommend help with shaking the unit.) Also, I think i found a little sensor that is about the size of a thumb drive and incased in a transparent plastic box. I tapped it with my finger and noticed this little black thing bounce up and down inside under the green circuit board. its located right above the drain connection. I didn't do anything else with this. I assumed its the sensor to measure the water buildup. I also found a small toy in the front fan wheel that blows the cool air through the top of the unit. fell out during the shake down. The final thing I noticed was when re-assembling the unit. On the front side you will see the two metal radiator looking panels. Between the two panels is a wire sensor that looks like a temperature measuring device. I had noticed it was touching the metal part of the radiator panel so I gently streightened it out so that it was parallel with the panels and not touching. I pressed the power button and it hasn't shut of yet. I snapped the front panel back on and all is good.
I have the white upright sharp AC unit with the three lights in the front and a power button next to the IR sensor. I lost the remote control and couldn't figured out why the unit would start up then shut down after a minute of use. The operation light would blink red then the orange timer light would blink next. Then both lights would blink simultaneously, then repeat. I thought this was a timer setting. but the unit is supposed to reset after disconnected from the power.

Inside of your door panel should have a list of fault codes, also you can find fault codes close to the end of your owners manual
