I have an EPSON D88. I have changed the catridges, but the printer doesn't work and a communication error appears. How can I get my printer working again, please?.

Thank you very much,

Same problem, can I ask how can it be a driver issue when it's been installed for some time? If it was a driver problem it would have happened from the start....?

We have a D88 and a D88+. after updating the software both printers failed.

1)They failed to identify new cartridges.

    2) When they did start to print - the D88 printed but kept on stalling creating black lines where letters had been printed on top of other letters

The D88+ screamed and stopped, causing the "spool" light to blink.Paper would jam.

    3) After carefully taking apart and cleaning the components :-

the D88+ ftryed to print but the spool failed causing over-type The D88 totally failed.

Notes: Both printers are in tact but simply do not perform All components showed no physical failure/ damage.

Conclusion: Replace printer with the SX100 available for less than £30 direct from Epson.

I've had an Epson Stylus D88 Plus for about a year and it has suddenly stopped printing.
Ink is OK, paper goes through, green light remains constant but will not print.

Epson D88 will not print, both red lights flash, message remove obstruction switch off and on. No change still 2 redlights flashing

The Lights can flash on an error and also iff the INK levels are down. You must check the ink levels and try to do a reset with printer software reinstalled.
Remvoe pinter from the PC, unistall and then reinstall to see if the printer shows the INK level exactly. If not replace INK cartridges to confirm.

Epson D88: yellow does not print. Tried head cleaning, nozzle check, & put new cartridge in but no change.

its possible that the yellow nozzles are totally clogged. Its possible that you would need a new printer. See your epson service center, maybe they can replace the nozzles
