Question about Sagem PVR 6280 Freeview DTV Receiver / 40-Hours Video Recorder

Have retuned sagem pvr 6200 and lost BBC1 and 2

Had to retune on 30 September and now have lost BBC1 and BBC2 plus some of the other digital channels. Have tried restoring factory settings and turning off power for a while but no different Also remaining channels - can no longer see times and whats on in the guide screen - all shown as blank.

The Sagem PVR 6280 is specifically listed as a model which will have problems with the retune. Although the Sagem PVR 6200 and 6200t are not specifically listed as problem models they are very closely related to the 6280/6240 models and share most of the same firmware and software.

See the address below for a chart of affected models, you'll need to contact Sagem directly on 0845 0900 316 for either an over the air update or an update DVD depending upon the manufacturer.

I'm having the same problem with my Sagem 6280, and having called the number kindly supplied above, a nice person a Sagem Tech Support taked me through it.

For note - the 'press 1' option doesn't seem to work on their phone system, so just wait for it to repeat 3 times and you get through :-)

The issue is (apparently) with the s/w version - I like many others am still on 4.5.

Sagem broadcast an OTA update at the begining of the year (again, apparently) to 4.7.
If you (or your son / daughter) hit 'no' then that's it - only 1 chance...

4.7 (apparently) does fix the issue, but as yet the tech team don't know if it's going to be re-broadcast or not.
I'm now on a call back list for if / when they find out...

I'd suggest you call them too and get yourself added - the more of us that do I guess means the more likely it might be to happen!

    As mentioned in my previous fix notes, I was added to Sagem's list of people to contact if / when they got a solution...

    Got this email today!

    Dear customer,

    We apologise for the
    inconvenience you had due to the recent change of the broadcast signal and we
    thank you for your patience.

    As you
    are aware, Sagem, as well as any other manufacturer, could and cannot take into
    account potential changes of the standard that may occur years after the end of
    the production line. However, we have used the last weeks to gather the
    necessary information for a solution of this problem since we appreciate the
    fact that it is not your fault either.

    To help you out we have decided to offer an additional software
    update for our old PVR6xxxx range in the UK. This unscheduled manual update,
    performed in our premises in Chertsey, would be charged £23 in order to cover
    our costs. After the update your box will be able to retune and work again
    without problems.

    Please come back
    to us and let us know if this option is interesting for you and we will be more
    than happy to arrange the necessary steps.

    £23 seems a bit steep, and not sure (yet) if it includes postage costs, but it will at least give me BBC1 and 2 back... (hopefully!)

Do you have your system connected to a signal booster?
if yes remove booster and try retune,it worked for me.
you can connect booster after retune again if you wish

Problem retuning Sagem PVR6240T set top box


Hey Agoodwin,

Looks like you have missed the final software updates for the PVR72xx and 62xx series last year. The bad news is that Sagem are not likely to send another update for their old models. If you check your box settings and you have software version 0.4.5. or less, your box will probably not work again. Sorry, mate...

I have tried retuning digi box and now i have no bbc channels what do i do next have tried rebooting it and it makes no difference also tried at least 12 times to retune still get no bbc channels

I have lost ITV1 and Channel 4 following the recent digital retune. How do I get them back? My postcode is W12 9NE.

I retuned my freeview box, but now I am getting a buzzing sound on all channels. How do I fix this ?

Lost BBC channels on my SAGEM PVR6200T during a retune



You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information
