Power From The House

Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? If you plug something else into the outlet, does it work? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

Door Switch

If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dry to reach the switch. Check for continuity you should have none with door open, and should have a reading when closed. If not replace the door switc

Thermal Fuse / Thermal Cut out

On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel or behind the front panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing or is sometimes round and made of metal and plastic.

If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replace the fuse this is the most common reason for blowing the fuse. (You can't re-set this type of fuse.)

Wiring

Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, burns and the connection breaks. In this has happened to your dryer, you need to replace the power cord and the terminal block inside the dryer to which the wire is attached.

Zanussi oven zbf 360 + bulb blows repeatedly

bulbs blow from incorrect voltage in use or loose ground wires ( arcing out)
if they fail while the oven is on it is because the bulb construction glass is wrong
bulbs used in ovens need a special heated treated glass and are generally only available from the service agent
failing immediately on turning on indicates a bigger problem that the bulb so call in an electrician to test the system

Washing machine blowing trip?

It is best to disconnect the mains lines from the control panel to the different section, which are the motor, heater, inlet and outlet valve pump. If the fuse trips then the fault is the control panel board and could be a failure of the rectifier or SMPS driver. You might need to replace the board.

I have had my whirlpool dryer about 4yrs + (geq9800pw2) has always worked fine. Last week it started tripping ckt breaker toward the end of drying cycle. As of this morning, it blows ckt breaker...

leave off the oven and a/c breakers and plug dryer and reset the breaker. if not tripping occurs then one at a time trip back the oven first. if no trip then trip off again and trip the a/c. if no trip then trip the oven back. if trip you may have a wire problem. if dryer trip any way then possibly you have a short in dryer. check the heating element wires, power cord at the dryer side(terminal block).

Kenmore dryer model 62821 will not start. Fuses were not tripped. Check list inside door for reasons why it would not start did not apply. Any ideas?

It doesn't work at all If your dryer doesn't work at all, it could be because of problems with: Power from the house Door switch Thermal fuse Wiring Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. My frigidaire dryer only blows cold air

You either have a tripped safety switch, a burnt element, or a burnt/loose wire to/from the element and or safety switches/controlls.

If you are handy, and have the tools, it should be a fairly easy repair.

You will need a volt/ohm meter to check the element for continuity, the safelty limit switches for continuity to lacate which part is the problem. (some switches are push button resset, some are one time trip and must be replaced.

The second issue is what caused it to quit in the first place.

The #1 cause for that type of failure, is lack of airflow due to a clogged vent pipe.

Make sure the filter, dryer outlet, pipt and outlet from the house is all clear from lint, birds nests, kinks etc.

Gas dryer tripping breaker when plugged in.

I have the same exact problem. Dryer works great....when empty. Put wet clothes in and 3 or 4 hours later they are as wet as when I started. I am going to kick the piece of junk to the curb and go get a GE dryer right now.....I suggest you do the same.
