Wow, that's tough, providing you have maxed the RAM in the machine, and have it running upvtovdate Panther or Tiger ...while using firefox , have flip4mac installed .... give that a go, should work depending on what video. HD will be a nono but most vids should play depending also on how the video maker finalised there vids too..what codec they used etc etc I had it running on a iMac G3 not too long ago with 1Gb RAM on Tiger . worked -ok(ish) good luck oh.. to help more I'd need to know what OS- how much RAM -which browser/plugins you using ? cheers.

Usb not recognized on macintosh powerbook g3

The Powerbook G3 will be using the original USB architecture and I suspect that your flash drives are using USB 2 and are not backwards compatible, so sorry I don't really think it is possible.

For the Mac G3. Are there Windows drivers?

This scsi controller is specifically for Apple Macintosh computers, name for the G3 macintoshes of the time. I am not sure if it will work in PCs, although I'd be interested in the information.

OK - I have tried everything but I still can not get sound on youtube - what do I do?

Does the audio work on other sites, like break.com, or myspace.com?
Does it work only on other types of media (mp3, wav, etc)?

My bet is you need to update Adobe Flash. That's the method Youtube uses to stream video.
Download the Adobe Flash Player 10 Update for Windows and Macintosh (ZIP, 44 MB)

If that doesn't work, my next guess would be audio driver update. You'd have to go to your PC manufacturer's website and search there for a driver update for your specific machine.

Best of luck, and if you need more help, ask!

Apple Macintosh PowerBook G3 Start-up problem

Your mac doesn't recognize the system folder. Try to find the original boot disks that came with the machine, and see if you can mount the hard disk while booting from the CDs. If you can, I'd backup the data as soon as possible and reinstall the operating system, including a full hard drive reformat. If you can't see the hard drive from the boot cd, another option is to hold down the T key during startup to boot the mac into "target disk mode" - this will allow you to hook up the g3 to another computer as an external hard disk in order to back up the data.

YouTube videos play, but jump from scene to scene. Audio plays in real time and sounds fine.

turns out you have an iBook G3. Your computer is really too outdated to be expected to play video properly. You can add more RAM but it really will only partially help you out. the G3 computers just aren't made for decoding streaming video, especially now that YT has HD video.

Have just bought a Verbatim portable hard drive (120GB) and it won't show on my Mac desktop. It works fine on my PC

Make sure your Mac meets these minimum criteria or it won't work.
  • Any Macintosh with built-in FireWire port or a Power Macintosh G3 with a powered PCI 6-pin FireWire adapter
  • Mac OS 8.6 to 9.x; Mac OS X 10.1 or higher
