Question about Apple MacBook Air
From one day to the next the sound has disappeared. I have checked the sound preferences and the mute box is ticked but I cannot un-tick it. Under the sound preferences there is are no output devices found and no input devices found. I cannot understand.
I tried to make software update, plug and unplug headphone, no way.

This is a widespread hardware issue with the MacBook Air. You are not alone. See:
Some users report that replacing the Audio Board Flex Cable corrects the problem, but others report that the correction is only temporary.
If your machine is still under warranty, I would get it back to an Apple repair facility immediately. If it is not, you will still need to get it to a repair facility, but bring along the above URL and suggest that Apple treat it as a warranty extension issue.
