Remove the battery and plug in the AC power supply.
Turn ON laptop (without battery).
Start Windows and let it settle down.

Install battery with laptop still ON and Windows running.
Allow battery to charge for a few hours.

My latptop's internal clock getting problem after some days its reset to year 2002.

The CMOS battery is responsible for the internal clock. If it automatically resets itself to 2002 (motherboard manufacturing date) then you need to have it replaced (it's really cheap to have it replaced).

Dell Latitude will not turn on.

this time your DELL LATITUDE is hang-up, why because the motherboard find some devices connected which are no longer exist...
Here's what you do for now, remove the jumper switch to reset the cmos setting to clear and back to normal, you can see jumper very near to the cmos battery...
if the problems exist again tell me how many numbers of beeps.. heres my email:

Jumper location motherboard blade 2, dell latitude x300.

The password is not on the battery it is in the volatile memory.

The battery supplies the power to the volatile memory to make sure it retains its settings.

If you have removed the Cmos battery and when you put it back the machine still has a password then the password is written into the non-volatile memory and cannot be re-set that way.

Get a hold of someone with ERD Commander and they will drop the password off in a couple of minutes

Software installation corrupted system laptop wont stay on!!!!

Take the battery out and only have the adaptor hooked up to the laptop, then try to a fresh install of Windows XP and see if it goes thru. If it does then your battery is the culprit.

Dell latitude d510 cannot recognise harddrive

Doesn't sound good. A bad cmos battery can cause symptoms like this (small battery inside the computer to run the clock when it is off).

Although I am afraid it is probably more like the BIOS is corrupt. Which is what is called in a bricked state. You may find info on the Internet for tricks for trying to get it unbricked, but they don't always work. :(

Try re-seating your memory. If you have two sticks in, take one out and try each one in each slot. Also, try to connect an external monitor and see if you get anything. It has to be hooked up before you boot. Good luck
