It's a problem with Vista and AOL 9.0 and un-installing and re-installing AOL doesn't help. The only solution I found was you have to do a Vista restore back to like it came from the factory then re-install AOL 9.0.
I would go to AOL website and get latest update first.

It is an issue with AOL, when AOL is uninstalled some files and folders are left. After the uninstallation of AOL, you need to find and delete the remaining AOL folders and then you can reinstall AOL to restore the file.
