Then setup a proxy, and you might have to lookup a tutorial for setting one up though.

Error 1005

1. This is a generic error that describes that phone is not able to find the PC. There can be many reason for this
2. Try restarting PC Remote Server
3. Make sure that battery saver mode is not turned-on as phone networking is stopped when battery is low.
4. Try restarting your PC and restart PC Remote Server
5. Do you have any firewall or anti malware installed on your PC? These softwares might be blocking the connection with PC Remote Server. During server setup, a rule/exception is added to Windows Firewall to enable incoming connection from Phone. If your security software is not querying Windows Firewall for exceptions, then you need to manually add a new exception to allow incoming TCP and UDP connections on local port 61314. Try connecting after stopping security software.
Please add the rules to allow incomming and outgoing connections for PC Remote Server at port 61314.

A connection to the remote computer could not be established, so the port used for this connection was closed. For further assistance, click More Info or search Help and Support Center for this error...

Sounds like your trying to connect to a remote computer. Steps to take and things to check.
1. Make sure the remote computer is on. 2. Make sure the remote computer is connected to the internet 3. Make sure the remote computer does not have a firewall blocking the port connection.
Some applications use certain ports on a computer to send/recieve data. If the computer has a firewall, like windows firewall or Kaspersky Internet Security, that port or application could be blocked, and that could cause the problem.
4. Make sure your computer does not have that application or port blocked.
If you can get to say www.google.com on both computers, then steps 1 and 2 are done. Look to a firewall or security application next. Beyond that I will need more information.

Unable to get remote desk top computer to work on acer aspire one

I think you're trying to connect to your office computer from home/somewhere else.

If that's the case, make sure you have done the following :
  1. Your VPN Session is connected
  2. Your Office IT Administrator allowed RDC over VPN
  3. Your Office Computer RDC is enabled
  4. Your User (local or domain user) having administrative rights or allowed to connect to RDC session
  5. You got no firewall blocking RDC connection or remote registry
To check if you already connected to your office VPN, launch command prompt and try pinging your office computer name or IP Address. As an example if your office computer name is PC-100 and IP address is 192.168.1.100 then you will issue : ping PC-100 or ping 192.168.1.100. If you got ping reply than you're good to go.

To Enable RDC on your office computer there are 2 ways :
1. On your office computer, right click my computer > properties > Remote > Enable Remote Desktop
2. Via remote registry :
- Start > Run > Regedit > Enter/Return
- On registry editor, go to File > Connect Network Registry > Type in your office computer name > OK
- On your office computer registry, browse to : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server, find the key "fDenyTSConnections", double click it and change the value to 0

You should disable your windows firewall or 3rd party firewall for easier configuration. You can;however set up exception on your firewall but will need some knowledge to do that.

Hope it helps.

Firewall blocking runescape

Disable all firewalls, as Norton, Zone alarm etc.
Also disable windows firewall from control panel.

If it still does not work check the router settings. Routers have internal firewall, you may need to add your laptop's ip or mac address to the firewall as trusted one.

An alternative is connecting laptop by wires to the router, probably the router firewall will let it go , as wired connections are set to less resticted security.

Not able to getting video from Remote far end.

Is the Indian site within the firewall? If so, I would focus on the firewall. Does the US site have a firewall? They may be blocking outbound traffic. If you are connecting but no video, it sounds like UDP traffic is still being blocked somewhere. If you can, you may want to assign public IPs on the units and test outside of the firewall.

Hope this helps..
