Usually the high pitch noiese like this indicate some kind of power supply problem. The power supplies inside are called "switching power supplies" and if they're overloaded will make the kind of sound you describe. It sounds like there's a serious problem within. Probably should have it serviced.
If you had an older set, I'd say the flyback transformer has malfunctioned, but I don't think they're in todays set.
