Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
I suspect the wheels are sticking together, a common problem from dried ink, or there is a burr or cotton fibber between the wheels. It may be a case of the wrong ink but clean it first. Use a combination of two wooden sticks... most anything will do to hold one wheel while you manually turn the other. Retract the ink pad and lock it back using the catch on the shaft. Use q-tips saturated with kerosean to disolve the ink and lubricate the wheels. If need be you can use a paint scrapper or slim knife to help to spread the space between the wheels after you have let the kerosean do its work. Caution take care to protect your eyes from a snapped blade. It shouldn't take very much force to wedge the wheels apart. If there isnt space on one side rotate the wheels 180 degrees to the other. Although you don't want the kerosean on the ink pad it won't damage anything. You'll want to wipe off, squeeze of, spin off, stamp off as much as possible. as much as possible before you re-ink your pad. Order yourself some Bates numbering machine ink. Take the time to mix it well. My preference is blue if you can get it.
I read where some one had problems with their screws loosening. I never had that problem with this model but if I did I would clean the screws and holes with acetone or solvent quality alcohol and tighten the screws back in with lock tite.
I like to stamp my documents before I scan the for search indexing and he like.
