SOURCE: replace broken pull cord on RBC30SESA trimmer

The reason why ryobi tools are cheap is that when they go wrong and they all go wrong they should be chucked away as some times they can cost more to fix than buy new.
Depending on where you live you can contact roybi andthey have a very good service deppartment

I have a craftsman ws 2400 2-cycle 27cc weed eater and the pull rope to start it broke . How do I fix it?

Video links at the bottom of this feedback.
Turn Off the Ignition: Move the ignition switch on the Craftsman trimmer into the "Off" position.
Remove the Starter Assembly Cover: Use a screwdriver to unscrew the starter assembly cover and remove it from the trimmer.
Prepare the New Pull Cord: Cut off the old cord from both the pulley and the starter handle. Dispose of the old cord.
Replace the Pull Cord: Flip the starter cover over and replace the pull cord. Make sure it's securely attached to the pulley.
Reassemble the Starter Assembly: Put the starter assembly cover back in place and secure it with the screws. How to Replace the Pull Cord on a Craftsman Weed Trimmer (youtube.com)

Toro 51978 weed eater can't pull the cord?

It is a two stroke motor. Have you been running it at the recommended gas / oil mix?

The pull cord should pull easily when unbolted from the trimmer engine.

Remove the spark plug. Add a dessert spoon of light machine oil like 3 in One and let it sit overnight with the piston and cylinder perfectly upright. The next day, turn the crankshaft three full revolutions with a wrench. Tip out any excess oil and refit the spark plug and pull starter.

Should i be able to turn the motor even if the pull string does not pull out? I have the RY30544.

If it is a recent model yes, you can even try using another method, hook up an electric starter.

How to change the spool in the black and decker grasshog

Is this the cordless Grass Hog? Turn the trimmer upside down so you're looking at the bottom. There are two orange tabs on either side of the spool -- push these in and the head should pop up so you can pull it out.

On the new spool, feed the cord out several inches and stick it through the hole in the trimmer where the old cord stuck out. Then pop the spool into the cavity so that the orange cover faces out (toward you). Pull the cord taut and make sure it is not long enough to hit the plastic guard. If it is too long and it touches the guard, pull the spool off and wind the cord in a little bit. If the cord is too short, pull the spool off and thread out a little bit more length and try again.

Turn the trimmer right side up and turn it on to make sure it works. If you hear a loud rapid thumping sound that sounds sort of like a machine gun, the cord is too long and is hitting the plastic guard.

Ryobi ss30 (ry30544) pull string keeps jamming

I am having the same problem. I took it apart and the plastic cap piece for the pull string spool has a crack. This is the plastic piece that turns the engine when pulling. Because of the crack, the absorption spring under the cap slips out of its hole in the cap. This causes the pull string spool to jam after a strong pull that causes the crack to open up. Now I need to find a replacement part. Any ideas?
