A few questions that may confirm problem.
Does your computer seem to know that something is plugged in?
Or does it say that it does not recognize the device?

Well, if the computer actually knows that a device has been plugged in, but you just cannot see the device in my computer, here is how you fix that. Just follow these steps:
Control panel
Administrative tools
Computer management
Storage
Disc management

Now you should see your device presented in the schematic below.
Right click on the device and assign a new drive letter.

If your computer states that it does not recognize the device, try plugging it in one of the back USB ports of the computer. Please rate this.

You can connect the usb via your computer and if it does not recognize devices then try using other devices to connect. It this shows the same problem then it means that your usb port is faulty.

Please get it to a certified repairer.
