Question about Intel Pentium M 765, 2.10GHz (BXM80536GC2100FSL7V3) Boxed Processor
I've just reinstalled windows on my dell and as far as i know all the drivers have been installed but my computer still is running sluggish. I've been to intel's webpage and d/l thier ID utility and it says that the processor is running at 0.14ghz. Why is this? Does this just have something to do with the speedstep technology? Or is my processor bad? if so, how to i confirm this? Is there a programs that can test for this? Or, is there something else wrong with my computer? Thanks to anyone for help, i've been working on this computer for 2 weeks now, this is my thrid reformat and i'm getting frustrated, thanks.
Intel processors slow themselves down rather than burn up. It could be that your fan is not turning, or the heatsink is clogged up with dust. This may, or may not, be the problem, but it's worth checking.

This might be a problem in your computer's BIOS (Basic Input Output System) settings. You can refer to your manual on how to access the BIOS, but it is usually accessed by pressing F2 or the DEL (delete) key on your keyboard a few seconds after you turn it on. Once in the BIOS you want to find the option to "reset to default" settings. Select that, save the BIOS settings and try again.
If this doesn't work I suggest contacting Dell customer support directly for help.
