The one that looks new but wont turn on, looks like the battery is dead, try swapping the battery from the other set that works and then try it. also try swapping the parts from the other sets and see if it works. Speakers dont fail so easily on two way radios.

How do you transmit from a cb radio to a talkabout fr60 and vice versa

CB radios and TalkAbout FR60 radios will not communicate together. CBs are 26-27.5 MHz and TalkAbout radios operate on FRS and GMRS frequencies between 462-467 MHz.

Best regards.

How do I access the interference eliminator code

On the fr60, press the menu button twice. This will make the smaller number in the top right of the screen blink. Use the arrow buttons to toggle the interference eliminator code for that particular channel.

I have a room that my 2way radio loses signal

Is it a basement? Where is the other one located? There could be something that is jamming the signal there to. Try taking a radio (music) and see if it gets signal as well. if it does then the radio might not be strong enough to send/recieve calls through many objects

Can transmit to other frs radios but cannot

Check the "code" (interference eliminator code) on the FR60 and set it to off or zero. It appears from your description the Cobras do not have "code" turned on. Refer to your user guide to find the instructions for turning off the code. (As of this date we have not found an FR60 manual posted online.)

Best regards.

FR60 intermittent transmission

Hello snorker,

It could be battery / power issue. Two-way radios draw much more power when transmitting then receiving. If the batteries are weak the radio might work perfectly fine on receive and then cut-out when you depress the Push-To-Talk.

Fixing my radio

Hi,

It is possible that your Motorola FR60 though on the same channel/frequency have different CTCSS settings. CTSS is also known as Interference Eliminator Code or Coded squelch, Private-Line, PL, Quiet Call, Channel, Guard, etc. What needs to be done is to set both to the same code setting on the settings/menu. Turning the code/CTCSS OFF would also serve the same but allow other radios (without CTCSS) to be likewise received/heard.

If they are already on the same code setting and still no receive audio, it is possible a fault on the squelch, receive/audio circuitry or even the speaker itself which of course would require hands-on/in-shop service.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
