The idea that you cannot change the battery yourself is nonsense.
Remove the 4 screws from the back. (A size #000 screwdriver works well.)
To remove the battery latch, stick a small, flat-blade screwdriver in the hole shown below:

Pry the metal tab away from the battery and the latch will release.

The battery is a CR2032. Note that the + is face down. To replace the latch, just push the open end back into place. It will click closed easily.

It'd be nice if you could edit these things. I'd like to replace some images and fix the formatting.

Well, you must return it to polar ONLY if you don't want to risk voiding the warranty. If your watch is out of warranty like mine, or if you're willing to risk it, then there is absolutely no good reason to return it, just follow the instructions posted by Brien.

I need to replace battery

All you need is to open watch case back, remove the rubber seal and unclip the contact. Take the battery out (memorize polarity: + and -) and buy the same one. Fit new battery in the right way back in watch, fit the contact, place back rubber seal and refit watch case back. Reset the watch. Done.

Thank you for contacting FixYa.

Gently unscrew the backplate from the watch with a small jeweler's screwdriver and set it aside.

  • 3

Locate the battery compartment and remove the screw holding the cover in place, using the screwdriver. The battery is a small, round silvery button.

Hi - is the battery on the Polar FS2C changable - and if so how can I do it?

Open watch case back, then release the metal contact covering the battery. Memorize battery's polarity (+ up and - down), then take the battery out. Memorize the combination of letters and numbers on battery (should be something like: CR 3216 or similar). Make does not matter - Seiko is as good as Maxell, Panasonic and other reputable makes. Buy new battery with identical combination of letters and numbers and put in your watch. Replace back contact, gasket and case back. Set your watch and enjoy. Rate me, please.

F55 watch is frozen and cannot get back to main

    HI dyer_christi

Most of these watches hold there memory whilst the batteries is still in. Unfortunately the best thing to do is to remove the battery and reset all data! I know this means you loose the hard work you have done, but I do not know of any other solution? Are you capable of changing the battery or would you like some help? I can provide additional assistance with this if you'd like. You need a small philips head screwdriver, some small tweezers and a clean bench with a few mins (say 30). if you'd like I'll help you through
