Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: i have a midland lxt326 im its supposed to work for 20 miles

The number of miles stated on the package pertain to the approximate distance you can contact somebody IF you were in an open field.

Keep in mind these radio signals travel by air, and if we have trees, houses, and tall buildings around us, the signals will meet interference and bounce around before reaching their destination.

In an urban area, the most you'll get is about 1 mile. I have the exact same radios as you, the LXT 326 model with black and blue on it, and I can use it to talk to family with a radius of about three blocks in every direction from my house. After that, the messages have a lot of static and are no longer understandable.

SOURCE: DROPPED MIDLAND WEATHER RADIO - NOT WORKING NOW

I will be honest with you, I haven't had any problems with this, but I will give you my opinion on what you should do. You can try to call tech support, but I do not think they are going to replace your radio because under their one year warranty, it says that they will repair or replace, at its option without charge, your radio if it fails due to a defect in material or workmanship within One Year following the initial consumer purchase. In other words, they are probably going to feel like this was your fault and your sole responsibility for the radio not working, not the radio itself. I will give you two possible solutions that you can try, but the only solution maybe to just get a new one. My first solution is to actually open the radio by unscrewing the bottom screws (the other two bottom screws are under the black grip-pads), and checking the circuit board and other contractions inside the radio to make sure everything is still intact. I've never tried this with the weather radio, but I did try it with a digital tire gauge I had bought. The tire gauge was not coming on when it was supposed to. I opened it up and played with some of the parts in it. I'm still not finished fixing it, but I did see that it was working better than it was before. Try playing with the parts in the radio and then put the radio back together and turn it on. If this does not work, than it's likely something that cannot be replaced and you will have to get another one. They have them at Wal-Mart for $29.99. I don't know if you are running your radio just on batteries or not, but if you are, maybe you should change the batteries. I hope this works out for you and remember, this is just a suggestion.

What voltage DC charger does a Midland LXT326 use?

http://www.buytwowayradios.com/Products/Midland/manuals/LXT-345-manual.pdf

I don't see it in there either. But since the battery is 4.8v, my educated guess would be somewhere around 6v. Its not stated in the manual though, and you can't see it on the picture towards the end where they offer a charger.

I don't know if you can charge by putting your own batteries in there. I'm guessing probably not, they usually put a different contact in there for the battery pack so you don't accidentally attempt to charge standard batteries.
