Ok, i think what you mean is a 3-way switch- meaning two different switches that control one light and a single (pole) switch that only controls one light. you can't do that with the above switch. You need a combination 3-way and single pole switch.

Ensure the power outlet has power. Try TV on a different power outlet. Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

I have an outlet that I want to convert to a light switch and an outlet on the T5625. I can not get the light switch to work. I have a Black hot and neutral with a grond. how do I hook up ht light portion?

Electrical devices have color-coded screws.

Electricians don't guess, they test.
You have tested the wires.

1) Combo switch-outlet device screws are dark - brass - silver - green
Hot to dark
Neutral to silver
Load wire (wire that goes to light, fan, motor) to brass
Bare ground to green screw

2) If you want switch to control the outlet on the combo device.
-Device must have 2 dark screws
-Look at dark screws, there is a break-away fin that connects dark screws.
-Remove break-away fin.
--Now there is one dark screw for the switch part of device, and one dark screw for outlet part.
-Connect Hot to dark-for-switch.
-Run jumper wire from brass screw to dark-for-outlet.
-Neutral to silver
-Switch on combo device will operate outlet on combo device

Need to find out how to hook up a toggle switch/outlet

You can't, not without running an additional wire. The black and white pair of wires that you have is most likely routed from the ceiling fixture. The black wire would be the hot wire coming to the switch and the white is the switched hot wire returning to the fixture. You don't have a neutral available at this location, so you can't make the outlet work, just the switch. ----- Sorry for the bad news. Thanks for using fixya. Al Kupchella

How to wire so switch controls outlet? We hooked it up. The switch controls the light fixture but no power is going to the outlet.

You should run a short "jumper" wire from the same screw that the light fixture's wire is on to the brass screw at the outlet. If you put the jumper on the OTHER side of the switch, the outlet will be always on.

Hi, I recently had problems with my gfci outlets. I have 4 outlets connected to a gfci circuit and I cant get the other outlets to work if nothing is plugged to that one outlet at the end. The gfci outlet...

that is truly a strange problem, has there been any rewiring going on? almost seems that it wired in a series instead of a paralell circuit and the end one completes the circuit when something is plugged in. i am not sure how to tell to fix this other than to go thru the whole circuit.

at the gfci the line side, or the hot wires supplying it should be hooked up to the line side of the gfci. the wires feeding the rest of ur outlets should be connected to the load side of the gfci.

then at each outlet the hot wires both line and load should be hooked up to the brass or gold looking screws and the neutrals should be hooked up to the silver screws. this way u should have power on all the outlets.

Im looking for the optinal 12 outputs on a 2005 civic's fusebo, as im trying to connect and glow gauge face and i need a 12v when parking lights are on

Hook it up straight to switch. Just strip a little wire on the ones that are already there. Or get your own toggle switch and hook it straight to fuse box or cig lighter, or radio wiring.

I would just take out the ashtray light bulb and cut the wires and use those one. Then it will come on when light come on.

The wires in the fixure are not color coded

Taking into account the category you posted in I will assume you are trying to hook up a light fixture, if that is the case a light is like a fuse when you connect the two wires you are actually making a short from one wire to the other, with that being said even though the National Electrical Code says the wire connected to the outside of the bulb (screw in part) is the neutral (white) and the center connector is hot (black). You could hook it up backwards and not damage anything.

If you are working on a switch, it's simple. A switch is just a continuation of a circuit. Simply if you put the two wires going to a switch together whatever you had connected to it would come on, therefore placement of those wires is not important.

Hope I helped...

Single pole switch and receptable installation

you may already found the answer to you question.
but anyway, here it is.
split the black wire (hot), one to the light (not the light switch), one to the outlet (copper screw).connect a white wire from the outlet (alium screw) to the copper screw on the switch.
connect a white wire from the alium screw tothe white wire on the light.
