When I push the volume up key, the computer immediately goes to sleep. I can't wake it up right away either, I must wait more than 5 minutes before the computer will let me wake it back up, and it displays a screen saying these programs could not be shutdown, as if it was trying to turn off.

- This problem started in August, after windows updates were. I did not install any programs near this time. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the keyboard drivers, and updating the HP Enhanced Multimedia Keyboard software, but neither helped.

- This problem started after windows updates in early September.
I have not installed any new software in the past couple months.
I'm sure other software does automatic updates as well, but I don't know what may have happened around the time this problem started.
When I push the volume up key on the keyboard, the computer goes to sleep. Pushing buttons or moving the mouse don't stop the computer from going to sleep. I can't wake it up right away either. I have to wait several minutes, then moving the mouse will wake the computer. Once the screen comes back on, it has a dark grey background, with a windows dialog saying some programs could not be shut down, as if Windows had been trying to shut down.
Obviously, I do not want the volume button to put the computer to sleep. I am using a Compaq Easy Access USB keyboard. I've tried updating the drivers, which are the Vista default USB keyboard drivers. I've tried removing the Compaq keyboard software, which makes the internet keys and stuff work. The problem still exists. Then I tried reinstalling the keyboard software, still have problem. I've tried checking the software mapping for keys, but they don't even show the volume keys as being programmable.
I tried Compaq support, but they say it's a Windows Vista problem, and to reinstall. Reinstalling Vista is a pain, since I have to call Microsoft to reactivate. But that may be what I have to do.

I have a new Emachines EL1331G-01w PC. I also just bought a new HP Office 6500 All-In-One Printer. I tried to install the printer to my new PC and it did not work. Apparently, the my new PC system is incompatible with my new printer. How do I fix this problem?
