If there is no power at all, You may have blown out the power supply board. There is an easy way to find out. With the TV unplugged, take the back off. If you see some blown capacitors you need a new board.
If there is power i.e. standby light comes on but wont turn all the way on, then it could be in a different board.

If a buzz or such and it seems to come from the power board its a transformer or coil vibrating hard enough to make the sound--not a uncommon issue.

TV will not turn on seems to not have power.

If the TV "seems to not have power" then I assume that no lights are on or blinking, and that no noise is made by the television at all. This is most likely a power supply issue or a power chip issue. If you know anyone who able to solder or has working knowledge of electronics boards this could be a relatively cheap fix ($30+ in parts). Otherwise, you may be paying hundreds from a TV repair shop.

Stupid tv!

Sounds power supply board is bad in your TV and most probably replacement of all electrolytic capacitors in power supply board will solve the issue.
Take TV to local TV repair shop for repair.
Thanks.

Two light are blinkin' in from panel. and tv

This seems to be a common problem. I have the same issue. Repair man says its a power supply (he thinks). When the lights start blinking, press the power button on top of the tv (not the remote) and most of the time it will come on and work. I am going to try to replace my power supply and see if that fixes the issue. If so, I will update this post.

Multiple issue,power light flashes

Sounds like first loose connection on circuit board. I would first look around the relay this is what clicks. Then also the low voltage transformers. These problems are always concerns when set is moved or bumped hard. Try this first. Or it could be a heated issue.

Troubleshoot-5 blinks red light front of TV

TURN TIMER OFF. GO TO SONY.COM, TROUBLESHOOTING, OR The STANDBY light is flashing on the television and there is no picture or sound. Solution
sp.gif sp.gif The STANDBY light will flash if an issue is detected within the television. This can sometimes be resolved by simply following the steps below to reset the television.
  1. Turn off the television. IMPORTANT: For a projection television that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.
  2. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
  5. Turn on the television.
If the issue is still unresolved after following all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required. Please note the number of times the STANDBY light flashes and relay that information to the service center.
