Question about Panasonic BL-C1 Network Camera

1 Answer

Cameras stopped working after power outage

We have 4 of these cameras & they have slowly 1 by 1 quit working & it always seems to be after a power outage. Would the outage fry the cameras? They are still plugged in but it is like they have no power w/ no lights on or anything. Is there anything we can try to fix them? Or if we buy a new camera & plug into existing set up will that work?

Sounds like they have been fried by a power surge - it will be worth having surge protection on them in any future installation.
Is there any voltage/hz selection on these units that need adjusting to suit local conditions or do you purchase against a specified voltage / hz ?

Hi there please follow the steps and let me know the result.
1. Ensure batteries are fully charged & clean the battery connector point in side the battery compartment.
2. Look carefully between the lens and the camera body for any sand, dirt or any damaged etc.
3. Try turning the camera with the lens facing down and shake to dislodge anything stuck
4. Try removing batteries and memory card, wait 5 minutes and refit the battery only.
5. Now turn on camera( with out card ) and see ,if working then fix the memory card & again turn on the camera. If working then fine . Otherwise format the memory card and fix back in camera again & try. Make sure before format the memory card take a back up all photos in your computer then format. If no luck then reset or restore the camera setting by pressing Menu key for 2 sec .. in not done the press both Menu & self time key for 2 - 4 sec.

No solution here. If you want a quality Nikon, you need to spend thousands for their professional DSLRs. Take care of your Canon and you should be very happy with it.

Camcorder just quit - no power

Hi There, Have you tried plugging in the d/c power cable from your charger? The power supply board inside the camera has 4 fuses, 1 is for the battery power, 1 is for the d/c plug in power, 1 is for both and the 4th is for lens functions. The camera may NOT be completly fried. A good service shop should be able to get your tape out without damaging it and give you an estimate for repair at the same time.
Let me know, mr cicmo.
