Question about Samsung LN-S1951W 19 in. LCD Television
I have a samsung ln-s1952w 19'' lcd and it has worked fine in the past and has not been used for a couple of years now. I try to connect my dvd up to it and it does not register it on any input (av, component). I hooked the dvd player up to another tv and it works fine. the screen is on and I can access menus, but the input says no signal. the power cord I found is the right one I think, but the power specifications on the TV say 110-120V and the cord says 125V on the cord itself. What could be causing this?

I lived with it for about six weeks, then took the back off the TV. Just now it seems to be fixed, but I don't know if it will last.
I disconnected the wire leading to the channel up/down, volume up/down and source board, turned on the tv, turned it back off, reconnected the cable, and everything seems fine now.

You need to do some more diagnosing of the problem. If you get sound and change channels take a bright flashlight and place it again the screen. Look for an image around the edge of the flashlight.
If you see an image that means the LCD controller board (TCON) is probably good.
The problem is probably one of three causes;
1) Inverter board is bad
2) CCFT (cold cathode fluorescent light) are bad.
3) Power to the inverter board is bad. You can also check the connectors.

Hello, I have a question which video inputs are you using for your DVD and Wii connections? The reason I ask is because this sounds like video distortion cuased by noise. If possible can you send a picture of the screen when it has this problem and send which video ports are being used? If it is noise in the video you may have a saw filter problem, or a decoupling issue. In any event I'll know more once you send those pictures and which inputs you are using for your DVD and Wii.
