I am attempting to replace a broken latch handle and assembly

I am replacing a broken latch handle and assembly piece. Maytag DW MDB6601 AWW Quiet Series 300. I ordered and received the new part which has the latch handle and the assembly already connected. My problem is I cannot figure out the trick to unplug the 2 plastic electrical plugs in order to remove the old assembly. What's the trick?
I do not want to exert too much pressure fearing I'll break the plastic electrical piece.Thanks for any help you can provide.
