My acer aspire 5520 laptop after updating windows today went to restart and the lights turned on as if it were starting up, the fans turned on and then it shuts down. and keeps trying to start up again. I took it apart and cleaned the fans and stuff out and tried to turn it on again and it booted up to the acer picture then went to a blue screen that said "stop" and a bunch of numbers. After that i took out the battery and put it back in and tried to restart it agian, and it would just attempt to boot up and shut down again. I have no idea what to do and i have only had problems with this laptop in the last year, its only 2 years old it should be working fine!

Re: Acer laptop wont start up.
You have corrupted files on your system, either from a hard drive beginning to go bad or from just a bad update, use your recovery console, either available during start up or by using the windows cd to boot your computer and have it run a recovery, you will have to re-apply some of your service packs afterwards. Another option in the recovery console is to use your system save points, if you have the recovery console installed then use it to restore your compter to a day before the update.
