Question about GE 24 in. Profile PDW7800 Built-in Dishwasher
I had an authorized GE repairman out today. My GE Profile built in dishwasher PDW7880G00SS was diagnosed as needing a new "pump outlet boot" and "short bottom door seal"? Is this a DIY project if I order the parts? I am asking because the parts are only $35 and the $251 repair bill is almost entirely labor charges. It sure would be nice to do this repair myself.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: dishwasher leaking
There is a front door seal that may be the issue. It seals along the door sides/top and continues under the door to seal the bottom surface when closed. Mine pulled out of the seal channel under the open door where you can't see it without a small mirror. The seal took a "fixed set" out of the channel so now it will not stay put. It requires replacement.
Hope this helps.

Re: My dishwasher start light flashes and the timer display is blank.
That is a fault condition, if the display is blank it is probably a faulty control board.
Unplug the appliace from main, or trip circuit braker to cut power for ten minutes.
If display is still blank on startup, then replace the timer control assembly.

I had the same problem. There is no way of replacing seal/joint between pump and motor. It can't be taken apart w/o destroying parts, it only comes as an assembly. Costs around 130$ for pump/motor assy, so it might not be worth it.
