Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

COPY STAR 2030 - loads up on the right side of the drum and makes a loud noise. Clean it out and it runs for about 500 copies and does it again. Waste toner does not have much in it. The cleaning station auger has no toner in it and the waste tube has nothing in it. Has new drum, blade, sponges, felts, coronaChg, mylar catch, new springs on blade, DV change, doctor blade, have cleaned all clutches, elipictical gear. It has really beat us up. three techs still haven't corrected. Any help or direction would be great.

Copy is very light. Cannot open the MENU & hence cannot adjust the darkness of the Copy.

First off all to go to menu Press star (Additional function) - 28 together and again star Go to Function - Density and increase/ decrease the number. DE - DC- 24 Dev - 15 Off - 128 Den - 7-9 And again There may be a number of reasons for a light copy 1. Drum - change the drum if it is run above 10 - 20000 copies 2. Blade - changing the blade simultaneously to improve the copy quality
Thanking you.

Can this copier do both sides at the same time

According to the copier specs, the CS-2030 requires that an add-on duplicator unit be installed for double-sided copying.

MY IMAGECLASS 6530 DOES NOT MAKE A COPY IT SENDS OUT A PLAIN PAPER

If you had just changed the cartridge it my not be making contact with the drive that turns the drum. Some people pound on the back side while running a copy to get it to engage. This may take several times before it clicks into place. Take the cartridge out and close the door part way and you will notice that a white triagular shape drive arm will come out to engage the triangular shaped black driven unit that turns the drum. These two parts must mesh before the drum will turn and then you will get a copy. Once you get these two parts in the right place you will run fine until you pull the drum/cartridge unit out again.

I was wondering if there is anyway that you can make double sided copies and if so how??

Only copiers fitted with a duplexing unit will automatically make a double sided copy. I assume yours does not have this accessory.
You can always make two sided copies manually. You need to first work out the paper path, so mark one piece of paper with an arrow showing the top and the direction the sheet was placed on top of the paper feed tray. Make a copy and you will now know whether the top or bottom of the paper as loaded gets printed on. Now place that sheet back in the paper feed tray again with the arrow face down in the paper tray, but still pointing in the same direction as before. Print side two and you will now have a double sided copy. If the reverse of the copy is facing the wrong way then you know that the paper needs to go into teh paper tray with the arrow facing you. Hope this makes sense, but it just needs a couple of trial runs to get to understand which was round to put the paper back in for the revers side to be printed. Always keep the final successful double sided copy, marked up for future reference, as it is so easy to forget which way to put the paper back in several weeks later.

Dear Sharp Al-2030 Experts: Paper Copies made from the cover-mounted auto-feed system are produced with a full copy-length thin double line separated by an approximately 1 13/16" wide distance. It is...

There is something on your scan glass. If you get lines through the document feeder but not on copies made off the glass then it is a dirty scan glass. There is a thin glass strip where the document feeder feeds the original. Usually something like white out that did not dry smears off an original and ends up on this thin strip of glass. Scratch it off with your finger nail and use some glass cleaner to resolve the problem. The scan glass is about 1/2 an inch to an inch wide and will be on the same side of the machine that the copier feeds the originals in on. Once the glass is clean your problem is solved!

Copy star 3035

The drum unit may need to have the toner collection blade replaced. not the cleaning blade for the drum but the one below it that catches the toner cleaned off the drum. if this blade is old or damaged it losses its seal to the drum and drops tiny specks of toner onto the page.
Hope this helps...

Copy problems

1-if you make a copy on the glass instead of the feeder is it still there?
If no, then clean small 1" glass on copier there is a spot on it. even a pencil or pen dot WILL make a line on all copies. easiest way to find it, line up the paper on the small strip of glass and follow there will be something there ( sometimes it's hard to see since the background is black)
2- the drum has a black toner ring around it replace the drum blade or drum unit

A technician should look at this. There could be a gear going bad on it. Ive see a fee cases where the drum gets bad and cant turn any more.

Are there error codes on the screen?

Make sure the right door where the bypass tray is closed all the way.
