Re: Setting on the control panel

Have you gone to the " Save Configuration" option in the menu ? Try saving to ALL configuration locations.

We have 13 s4m Zebra printers. We try to change from thermal to direct. Which was no problem during our initial test. But when we try to change actual printer that was being place inside a cooler we kept...

Changing the setting on the printer The default setting is thermal transfer for this printer. You can change the setting on the printer so it doesn't show you the error any more by doing the following: Press SETUP/EXIT Press Plus (+) to scroll through the different parameters About the 6th parameter is "PRINT METHOD" Press "SELECT" to select the parameter Press Plus (+) or Minus (-) to change to Direct Thermal (no ribbon) Press "NEXT/SAVE" to save your changes If you make the changes to you printer and as soon as it prints it reverts back to thermal transfer, then your label software or your driver are overriding it and you need to make the change there.
Changing the setting in your label software - this will also change the settings for this label only Open your label Make the change under "label setup" or "page setup" inside your label software.
Changing the setting on the driver - this will also change the default settings for all future labels that you create Go to control panel and devices and printers. Locate the driver for your label printer and make the change under "Printing Preferences".

Print is small in comparison to the screen.

Sometimes the Screen Letters or graphics do not match the Print out. You should tweak the Control Panel Display Setting, and change the Color configuration.
Or you can also go To Control Panel and Printer Setting, and change the Color Setting of the Printer. Usually if it is RGB, the print out would be different from Monitor or Screen.

Changed the ribbon, but the labels are to light.

The DARKNESS setting controls the amount of ink released to the label. The 105 has a range of 1-30, 1 is the lightest - 30 is the darkest. The setting used will depend on the combination of label / ribbon used. There is no "correct" number, always try to use the lowest setting with acceptable print quality.

The DARKNESS can be adjusted from the front panel by pressing SETUP and changing or DARKNESS can be controlled from the software or printer driver. The printer driver or software usually overrides the setting in the printer.

Hope that helps !

I have a Windows printer set up for the Ricoh 12332C. Jobs are sent and clear the queue, but do not print. They appear to be accepted by the Ricoh - they show in the job history log, but they do not print...

Usually the setting of yout network with your copier/printer setting is mismatched so your printer.copier did not understand. What you can do you should check the system setting of your copier/printer and print it out then you should find the driver of your printer/copier in the add printer hardware secrtion in control panel of your computer network . Before you reinstall it , you should uninstall the previous driver so there is no conflict when you reinstall new driver . Try it

Gloss or semi gloss paper stuck in fuser

You need to change your setting for media type, and media weight( you can use auto for this setting) but for media type you have several options. Bond, glossy, plain, etc. This setting adjust temperature for the fuser. You can do this at the front panel in menus.

Will not print in Black

Check the Print in Grayscale setting If the self test page printed Black, the ink cartridges are okay, and the ink levels are well above empty, the printer software has probably been set to print in color. Follow the steps below to check this setting:
  1. In the software application you are trying to print from, click File , then Print . The Print dialog opens.
  2. Make sure your printer is selected, then click Preferences . The printer Preferences dialog opens.
  3. Select the Color tab, then make sure that Print in grayscale is selected.
  4. Try the print job to see if this step resolved the issue.
And also follow the steps given below to change the setting in printers and faxes preferences.
  1. Click on Start, Open Control panel
  2. Double-click on printer and faxes
  3. Right-click on printer Icon and select properties or preferences.
  4. Now in preferences box check whether printing in black is enabled.
Now try to print a document from Word.

Printer epson lx-300+II

Changing the default settings in the printer using the printers panel may be a bit difficult but it should be manageable. As soon as you enter the default setting mode it will print a guide, the guide will include the current setting. The guide will also give you the corresponding value of a certain setting according to the status of the light. The first two boxes will correspond to the font lights and the last box on the guide refers to the pause light. pressing the lf/ff button cycles through the options and pressing the tear off button will select the current option and cycle through the options as well.... However, in any printing environment, the setting in the APPLICATION OVERRIDES the setting in the PRINTER. So, whatever setting you select in the printers' default will be overridden by the applications' settings....

Can I set default printing to black and white for color laser printer?

Yes. Any printer's default options can be set as desired. Open the printer's properties (Start/Control Panel/Printers/right click the printer and left click Properties), and change the setting as you wish, then click OK. Those settings should be used each time you use the print command, unless you change the settings for that particular print job.

Hope this helps, and please rate my advice, good OR bad.

Good luck!
