Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-F717 Digital Camera

Open Question

Sony DSC-F717 has Yellow tint on LED screen -not on photos.

My Sony DSC-F717 camera has a yellow tint to the LED display, but it does not effect the photos when displayed on the computer.Sony replaced the CCD sensor a few weeks ago and everything worked fine until yesterday. Now, when I view a white subject it looks yellow even the information on the screen is yellow. What part is bad? If I am handy can I replace it myself?...Thanks, Jim

SOURCE: yellowish lcd intermitant problem

Problem is in bad contacts in LCD area. In some cases it is sufficient only to clean the flat cables connecting LCD and the main board. The solution for this kind of problem is a job for a pro. In order to stay on a safe (rather than sorry)side, please contact a technician with the best references. If you need more info please advice

I have a sony DSC-F717 and when I look at my image through the LCD screen everything is tinted yellow... this problem is intermitent, it comes and goes... downloading to computer, the pictures are fine......

The chip that drives the image to the LCD is faulty or the LCD screen itself is faulty. The problem will most likely get worse or continue indefinitely. The only solution is to contact customer service and see if you can get it repaired. If it is under warranty it should be a free fix but if that expired you will have to pay to get it fixed. Luckily though, the camera sensor is fine and it still will function but your display will continue operating oddly.

Good afternoon. Literally, not long ago on my camera screen and viewfinder have to give a touch of yellow color. But this effect was not reflected in tailor photographs. In what may be the problem? Sorry...

This sounds like a colour balance problem. If you have set colour balance for daylight, then pictures taken in artificial light will be yellowish (or greenish under flourescents). It is best to leave the colour balance set to "auto".
