Question about HP ProLiant ML110 Server
It really depends on where the light is located. Lights on the front frequently identify the status of the computer itself or the hard drives. Lights on the backup are usually indicative of your network connection status.
These lights can be a little ambiguous so it is best to examine them using the computer they are on. Either using the operating system or management software from the server manufacturer.
If you have an HP server as identified in the picture in your post your best best is to open HP Systems Management software which should identify any problems with your server. Go to Start > All Programs and look for HP folders. (HP loves to change the name of their software frequently so you may have to try a few.)
My HP server has a folder named HP Management Agents that contains a program named HP System Management Homepage. When I open this it gives me all of the information about my server.
If you don't have the HP software installed you can find it to download and install at support.hp.com.
If you still have problems call HP. You problem is a little too advanced for email support.
Don't waste any time. A warning light on the server can be your last chance to fix things before you have a SERIOUS problem.
FYI: Frequently, "orange" is regarded as "amber" in technical documents. So if you have to do more research you might have more luck referring to the light as "amber".
If this helps please vote for my solution.
