You will have to locate a appliance parts warehouse in your area.

Washer had filled and agitated, but when went to spin produced a loud screeching noise. what might it be? this is an inglis front loader super capacity 2001.

It may be a a worn or broken drive belt.

OR

Some Whirlpool brands washing machines have a two piece agitator. The bottom is call the agitator and the top is usually referred to a 'Mover'. A multi-piece cam and bearing assembly connects the two and allows the top portion to index. If the bearing or cams become stripped or damaged, the mover will often not work and the cam parts will have to be replaced.

OR

It may be a bad motor.
Hope this helps.

Whirlpool Inglis washer super capacity, 8 cycles, 2 speeds. Bought in May 2008. Works well and washes well, but it is VERY loud and seems to be getting louder and now there is a faint rubbery smell when it...

I received an Inglis Washing machine from soneone on freecycle. They thought the belt had broken, doesn't have a belt, it's gear driven. I'd bet the noise you hear is the coupling going out, (rubber). Good luck.

My white westinghouse top loading washer wont open, the lid stays locked

Lid lock mechanism is bad and needs to be replaced. To unlock lid take off front and you'll see what to do. I cannot see your repyl due to some tech issue w/ the site, so it may be a day or so before I can reply again. Please leave feedback for me if appropriate. Thanks

I have a Kenmore heavy duty super capacity washer that does not go into spin cycle.no sound, movement nothing

  • this could be the lid switch, slowly open and close the lid and listen for a clicking sound.
  • if you don't hear it then the lid switch may need to be replaced.
  • if the lid switch is bad then the washer will fill up, agitate then sit there and do nothing.
