Question about Computers & Internet

2 Answers

I cleared a lot of rarely used sites last weekend in an effort to speed up my computer. I also attempted to upgrade to Explorer version #8 but it was communicated to me that it was not compatible with my printer? Since I deleted a lot of sites I have experienced the following problems with Yahoo mail: (1) when I want to "cc" a E-Mail I cannot do so. When I click on "Insert addressess" it will not open (2) when I am on various web sites and I try to click on something to bring up specific information, the system will not allow me to do so. Thanks, Dennis

Do any of these sites you mention use any Java applets? The reason i am asking is because when you installed IE8 the curreny Java Runtime Enviorment may not be working properly with the new IE. If this is the case, try to uninstall whatever version of Java you are using and reinstall, then give it a shot.

The problem is overloaded with temp files
clk start>run>type %temp% clk ok
this will open temp folder. Now delete all files and folders in it. Second update your antivirus and scan your system thoroughly
third disable all unwanted services that are processing unwantedly in background. To disable these services type msconfig in run command
System Configuration Utility windows will open up
go to services tab check hide services from microsoft.. this will hide all services run by microsoft and the rest will remain there now disable all the services that you think is taking up unnecessary memory. Last go to starup tab....Uncheck unwanted program to run at startup. This will help in starting computer faster.......
Do reply to me if this solves your problem..good luck

Internet explorer has stopped working. a problem caused the program to stop working correctly

Could be a multitude of things without knowing detailed errors, often its to much junk add-ons running in the browser. But I see by the version "8" that your also running an unsupported, non-upgradeable version. You may consider FireFox. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/

Every time i go onto the zoosk web site it keeps telling me to upgrade my browser which i dont understand & cant seem to get rid of

Most modern web sites require a newer version of a "web browser" in order to ensure that all of the features of the web site work correctly. You are probably using an old version of "Internet Explorer" which is the web browser built in to Windows.
If you are using Microsoft Windows XP or newer, you should visit: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/downloads/ie-8 and download an install Internet Explorer 8.
If you have an older version of Windows, the alternate "Firefox" browser can get downloaded from http://getfirefox.com. When you install that, click on the "Firefox" icon to access web sites like Zoosk that need a newer browser.
If you are running very old Windows system like Windows 98, you may not be able to get rid of the message and should consider getting a newer computer.

Hello there,

To perform an upgrade for your Internet Explorer to version 8, you just need to run Windows Update on your computer. It will automatically detect and give you the option to upgrade.

Verry slow enternet explorer that time i open it

You could have a slow internet connection, malware and spyware. Or need to clean your internet files to speed up your internet browser. Try downloading, installing and running ccleaner and spybot

When I try to get into a certain financial website to check our investments, we are shut down with the following message appearing on the screen. "Internet Explorer has closed this website to help protect...

Try using a different (non-virus-infected) computer.

Be sure that you're accessing the "official" web-site, not a "phishing" (and "unauthorized") copy of the financial web-site.

Upgrade to Internet Explorer 7 or 8.
Start IE, and click 'Tools' and 'Manage Add-Ons',
and disable unneeded toolbars. Close IE, and re-open it.
Now, try to access that web-site.

Server not certified" message appears

hi,
This problem occurs if you are using "Microsoft Internet Explorer" browser 6.0 or lower. Try upgrading your browser to Internet explorer 8.0. It is a newer version which has a lot of advantages comparing to previous versions. But you can use it only in Windows XP or higher versions of operating systems.I have provided the link which leads to the website for downloading the browser for free. You can also take a look at the Mozilla Firefox browser.

to download Internet explorer 8.0

Once you upgrade your browser you will not get the problem of the security certificate.

Hi,

Have you considered upgrading to Internet Explorer 8/ It is a much more robust browser than its predecessor, IMO.

Alternately, you may wish to try Firefox. I was hesitant after using IE for so many years, but I've been using it for about two years now, and I dont even open IE anymore. If for some reason you wish to stick with IE 7, you may wish to reinstall it and see if that clears things up. If there is any reason why you aren't able to install Internet Explorer 8 for some reason, or able to reinstall IE 7, then Firefox is a great alternative. Lastly, I have used Google Chrome browser, and it's really not bad - even has the ability to use Google's online applications that really come in handy (the same technology that their new operating system will contain. It will to be out a little later this year - Watch out Microsoft).

Hope this helps. Take care.
