Question about GE GSH25JSRSS Stainless Steel Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

Frige elec. board asm main control making click noise every 2 sec

I have a GE refrigerator that is 3 years old. The electrical board on the back keeps making a clicking noise every 2 seconds. I turned off the power twice, once for a few seconds. Second time for 10 minutes and when I turn it back on the clicking continues. The lights flicker slightly inside when the click sound occurs and the fan is not running. But I am quite sure the fan is ok. It's an electrical issue.

if yes then it might be you damper assy that is not opening but on GE'S most of the times that run call with that problem the evap motor is not running does your frige have a computer at the back if you do then you have to trouble soot that computer or call a tech or just repl that board and if it doesn't work just return it

SOURCE: GE refrigerator, the temp display was flickering,

If you are careful and can acess the pannel easily sometimes the pannels are hard to get off, and it would be good for you to have a ohm volt meter and no the safe way to operate around live voltage when testing.

Freezer is warm at top and cold on the bottom.

Sounds as tho your evap fan is not running. Open door to freezer and should hear a fan running smoothly. If not most of the time the problems is with the main control board on back of refrigerator.

I have a GE referigerator Model # GSH25KGRE of 4 years old... I hear a constant click-click noise coming from the back/motor..and I suspect the temp in the freezer is slowly dying down..

The clicking behind the refrig , is comming from the main control board , behind the 8" X 10 " panel . The part number is WR55X10656 . The compressor relay , on the board has burnt . Yes , your freezer is thawing , due to the clicking .

GE Arctica intermittant clicking sound, panel flashes "hrs"

It sounds like the main control board is going bad . This controls every part on the fridge , except for the light bulbs . It's located on the back of the refrig , behind an 8" X 10" panel , with about 11 screws , holding the panel on . Part number WR55X10656 .

Ge fridge makes a clicking noise fan in frezzer

Main control board bad . The board controls the fan opperation and the clicking , sounds like a relay on the board . Replacing the board should solve the problem(s) .

Noise

I believe you will trace this noise back to the evaporator fan motor inside the freezer making the noise. If you agree that the noise is coming from the evaporator fan motor inside the freezer it is not the motor that is responsible. Your model has a Main Mother Board on the outside rear wall of the freezer down low (about 10 screws hold square cover on over board). The Main Board is causing your noisy evaporator fan motor. Use caution when handling any electronic circuit board. Follow antistatic cautions. Static electricity in your body can damage these valuable circuit boards.

Side by side stopped working but clicling noises every second two.

Read, this model posted has a main board in back that controls the refer. Your problem sounds like the overload and relay on the compressor but you need to do a test to verify. On the main board in back there is a blue harness, 3 pronged, that is marked line, defr and comp. Lower left hand corner. You need to get a jumper wire with alligator clips and with the plug out, jump line to comp. Now plug it back in, this will send 120V directly to the compressor. See if it starts. If not and it does it clicking thing, chances are it's the overload and relay, or the compressor itself. You have five years warranty on the compresser. If it starts, it's the board it's the board giving you the problem. This of course is for the GSH model posted...Catriver..post back.

Frige not cooling and click noise.

Sounds like a relay is chattering on the board. First thing would be to change that circuit board, it controls pretty much the whole unit. Make SURE the clicking is coming from the board and NOT the compressor though! See item 801 below http://www.partselect.com/Schematics/GE/00118404i08.gif
