SOURCE: wont display the desk top

Try rebooting, tap F8 to get into the multi-boot options. Scroll down and choose "Last Known Good Configuration" windows should boot up normally. If you have made any hardware changes or if windows perfromed a corrupt update, that will require some additional help.

Boots up has desk top with out any icons not start not startup bar nothing just a blank desktop - nothing at all shows up on the desk top however the "cursor" is there but will not right click

just a quick thing to try is to press ctrl, alt, del and then select file -> new task. Type in explorer and click OK and see if this makes a difference.

Let me know if this starts it up, if it does there is probably something stopping the computer get back this stage and we can look t turning this off from startup if needed

No desk top or task bar

on task manager, press File -> then run.

Type Explorer.exe and press OK

see if you get the toolbar etc.

if you don't, would be most likely best to reinstall windows to the machine, with the acer recovery cd/dvd(s) that came with it.

Sounds like the explorer.exe process might be restarting. Open Task manager and keep refreshing the processes to see if explorer.exe disappears/re-appears.
