Question about InFocus LP70+ Multimedia Projector

LP70+ shutting down randomly and now not at all

Infocus LP70+ projector started shutting down at random times. Then it wouldn't turn on, or for only a short period of time. Now it won't turn the bulb on, but it gets warm. Is it the bulb, power source, or other?

There is a problem with the zero volt ground reference level. if you're good at soldering, try this:

1. Locate cap C105 on the power supply and then turn the board over to the solder side.
2. From the solder side, locate C105, pin 2.
3. Using Lead-free solder only, solder the 60mm length
of wire to C105, pin 2.
4. Fold the cable over the edge of the power supply and secure into place using RTV45, Loctite Tak Pak Instant Adhesive, or suitable substitute.
Connection to Main Controller ECA
1. Using Lead-free solder only, solder the 30mm length of cable assembly to C900, pin 1.
2. Fold the cable over the edge of the main controller ECA between the two connectors as shown then secure
into place using Loctite Tak Pak Instant Adhesive.

if this seems like too much, you can send it in to an infocus authorized service center. try AV Solutions ( www.avsolutionsny.com ). they're really good.

Just tried following your instructions, it seems that the C900 negative side is already grounded in my case. Would you still have the full technical report on this fix ?

SOURCE: InFocus LP70 projector is running hot

clean the dust out of it with canned air. the dust keeps in the heat that the projector is trying to expell. it also shortens the life of the lamp.

Hi, I have a Infocus Projector, Model # LP70, serial # begins with ACAN. The projector only has 951 hours on the bulb. The unit powers on and I get the Infocus startup screen. as soon as I turn on a video...

I think it is the time to remove the cover and check for air filters blocked with dust.
When this happens, air doesn't flow freely through the projector and result in overheating, which leads to automatic shutdown.

InFocus LP70 keeps shutting off

if the fans go off imediately too, it's the power supply. if the fans stay on, it's either the lamop, ballast, or colorwheel. either way, you may need to send it in to an infocus service center. try av solutions in ny. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

Have you tried another lamp? Sometimes thats your problem, but I've seen a several occasions that the a defective power supply causes this symptom. Do you see an image flicker before the projector shutsdown? I do have some spare parts for this projector.

I'm on Ebay - gtitubro if you want to contact me through there.

Infocus Lp290 Will not stay on.

Check the area around the fan and make sure you have good airflow. Put a small fan near the unit and direct the air flow so it cools it and let us know.

Lp70 projector Error message about Fans

I had a similar problem with an LP70. my fan was sticking.
So I opened bottom cover and pulled out fan cage, there are 2 fans.
you must know which fan not running.
If you found bad one remove paper label(yellow)
you can see 3 small holes.
using wd40 few drops to holes.
then manually turn using your finger cw and ccw few times
you can feel smooth turning now.
then relabeling to hole side.
reassemble unit.
power on.
Now you can enjoy with your projector.
