If a faint green lights come on, and then disappear almost immediately, then you usually have a bad Power supply board.
If instead unit stays in standby with green light on, then unit is in protect mode, because a wrong voltage had been detected, usually in consequence of a fault.
Try leaving power cord unplugged for one or two hours, even if it will not help in the first case.
If TV does not wake up, then the unit must be taken apart and tested to repair it.
Test on PSU is done visually checking PSU capacitors, reading voltages out on PSU contacts, and testing components. For safety reasons it must be done by a technician.
In case PSU is faulty, a replacement will be around $170:258762.
Here all parts for this TV.

Hi there,

Well it seems that there is some problem in the power unit of your TV, or may be some loosen shouldering or wire.....
you need to check for this, but first of all you can turn off your TV from main power and turn it on after 5 hours and see what's happen....

Let me know how old is your TV?
Post comments if you need more help or information.....

Good Luck!!

Thanks

I posted a problem on how to remove panel but I solved it. Now as I mentioned the tv comes on goes green then black no picture just sound. I followed instructions on adjusting G screw but it doesnt work...

Its possible one of two thing have occurred, you have maladjusted the G screen control on the high voltage screens and focus assembly. Turn down (counterclockwise) all three of the screen drivers. Adjust each until a light appears in the each lens, red green and blue. Go slow or lines will appear if set too high. If all three lamps stay lit after this adjustment the look at your screen with color level down to zero using your remote and the picture menu. Adjust the three color drives to get a good black and white balance appearing on the screen. Now adjust the color level from the picture menu back up to normal range.
If you still get green diagonal lines after this adjustment then I would suspect that the green lens has a heater to cathode short in the tube.

You tv used lamp XL-2400 or also known as F93087500. It is very common for this bulb to fail and have the exact symptom you are experiencing. I cant count how many times I have seen it.. Replace the lamp with either the exact Sony or an OEM and you will be back in business..

No video output from my computer.

Are you using an ON-board graphics adapter or a separate VIDEO CARD? Some motherboards lets you set the video output to "DISABLE ONBOARD GRAPHICS" if you have installed a video card (BIOS). You may have plugged the monitor cable to the onboard D-sub connection instead of using the Video Card D-sub connector.

Normally a flashing green power light means the input it receives from the video output is too much. You may have set the resolution too high or the bit depth too high. Consult the monitor manual on the rates it can handle. To be safe, try starting the computer on safe mode just to check if it is indeed the problem. If it boots properly and you can see your desktop, then there's a chance that the setting was too much for the monitor to handle.

Hope this gives you an idea.

PS3 doesn't appear on screen. Possible power issue.

Hello. There are a few causes for this. I will list acouple solutions for you.

1. Reset the Video Output Settings. While the PLAYSTATION 3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on the front of the system until the system goes into standby mode again . (So the light cycle would go from: red light to --> green light --> then back to red light) This will ensure that you have held down the On/Off button long enough to reset the Video Output Settings. Once you turn it back on, it should work fine.
2. If option 1 does not work call Sony because the video out chip has blown or come unsoldered.

I hope this helps. Good luck to you.
