I want to upgrade the memory in a lifebook Q notebook. It is NOT under any access panels!

i was trying to find it for you and came across stuff saying you cant upgrade the ram. it is soldered on to the motherboard. this is what it said
"The memory for Q2010 is soldered on board and is of non-standard form factor. What ZaZ suggested is that there "may" be another empty slot on the mainboard which you may utilize, but there is indeed none. So in short, you can not upgauge your memory.

Cant find where to insert san disk card

If you have a blackberry pearl 8130 then the Memory card slot should be on the left side of the phone above the application key.  If it is a 8110 the memory card slot will be underneath the battery.  Hope I helped.  Oh and I don't believe you can put the memory card into the MacBook, you have to transfer files with the bluetooth on both your phone and your Mac.

Memory upgrade

The M45-S169 only has one available memory slot.
(I'm confused about your post that states "M45-S265" in the head line).

  • Configured with 512MB DDR SDRAM (both memory slots may be occupied)
  • 512MB(min)/2048MB (max), 256MB on-board memory with 1 available memory slot for 256MB, 512MB, or 1024MB PC2700 DDR 333MHz SDRAM 2.5V SODIMM memory modules
You can find the complete specifications here.

Total memory

with out the model number of your computer. i would guess that by you having 4 slots you would need 4 (512mb) memory sticks that would give you a total of 2gb of ram. which is probably your max. also pretty sure you have to have the same size in each slot. you cant mix 1gb then 512mb it will not work.

Pentium 4 comptability with SD Ram

If you know what mother board you have you could check what RAM it can use.

All RAM is installed in the same way, but different types of RAM are keyed differently. That basically means that one type of RAM (for example SD RAM) will simply not fit into another type of RAM slot (for example a DDR RAM slot).

To install ram on a PC
Please note - do NOT touch the connector side of the RAM, handle it only by holding the side or top edge
1. check that you have the right type of RAM. do this by lining up the RAM above the RAM slot and making sure that the RAM is the same length as the RAM slot AND ALSO that the RAM's key (the little hole or notch in the RAM) lines up with the key in the RAM slot. Note there might be more than one key
2. open both clips of the RAM slot by pushing them down and out from the center of the RAM slot
3. gently insert the RAM into the RAM slot
4. check again that the RAM and the RAM slot's key's line up, if they do, firmly press down on the RAM on both corners until both clips automatically click shut on the RAM

That's it! :-)

Memory installation instructions

The memory cover is on the bottom of the laptop it is held in place with a screw or/screws, and may or may not have small holding tabs which keep the cover in place. when you remove the screw pop the cover off the bottom of the laptop and you will find your memory located there. BPCS

Memory Slots

I wasn't able to find where exactly your memory modules are located, but there are either on the bottom of the laptop with just a screw and plastic cover on top of them, or they are underneath the keyboard.
