i don't know about your PS3 ...but i tell you on thing if it have remote then press its red button...if it goes green and then red....it means it has problem in its main board....
try this:
it works for slimline PS2. might work for PS3.
1) turn off PS3
2) unplug PS3 and wait a minute or two before plugging back in.
3) turn on PS3
