Problem for Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition

WIndows Vista, trying to reinstall but CD with OS not working...

I'm trying to reinstall Vista, but when I put the CD (which came with the computer, as Vista was pre-installed) in, the drive just whirs and beeps unusually, and the computer doesn't recognize anything in the DVD-RW drive. other cds work, but this one doesn't...

suggestions? is there a special way vista is supposed to be re-installed?

Make sure that the CD drive is set as the first boot device in BIOS setup.

It sounds like the CD is faulty. Can you take it to a local PC shop & ask them to check it for you? Also, try cleaning the CD - I have come across drives which wouldn't read a disc if it had a very visible fingerprint on it.
