Question about Mitsubishi WD-57734 57" HDTV

Mitsubishi WD-57734 TV Powers on, Have sound, No Pic, Shuts down!

My HD1080 Rear Proj. TV seemed to take longer for the picture to come on. I could hear sound then the pic would follow. Now the sound is clear but the pic never does come up, it's just black. The green power button will flash while, I would assume, the pic is trying to boot up but then after about 70 seconds the TV shuts itself off.

Any idea on what's wrong? Can I fix it myself? If not, any idea what I'm looking at dollar-wise?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.

Best regards,

Kevin

God bless ya brother! I'll try it tonight. Always good to see another ambassador for God on the net!

I'll update you with what I find out. I was told about the reset button and I'm going to try that after work, then I'll see about that lamp.

Are you connected to a Cable box? then make sure cable box is not on MUTE and audio cables are attached.
From MENU check to see that speakers are not disabled on your TV.

Hi the cartridge's work is to hold the lamp in place it will not go faulty or melt or will prevent tv from lighting up.Did you close the door cover on the back properly.Did you reset the lamp timer? Do it by unplugging tv wait 5 min and plug it back again.Pay attention to clicking sounds or like wanting to turn on it could be a bad ballast and that's the board that powers the lamp.Hopefully you dont have "The green light of death" Issue. It tells all about it here http://www.highdefforum.com/rear-projection-tvs/58189-blinking-green-light-death-frequent-prob-w-mitsubishi-rear-proj-widescreens.html Good luck and God bless you!
