The screen shuts down after between 30 & 60 secs

Tomtom one
The screen shuts down after between 30 seconds and 1 minute. The unit continues to give voice instruction as normal. If I touch the screen it comes back on. This problem has arisen in the last 2/3 months. The unit was bought new in 2008.

Thanks Hitwizard - I have tried that. I reached this through 'Preferences' and it was already set to NEVER. Anyhow, I set it again to NEVER and the same thing happened again, screen shut down until touched.

Also, in 'Planning Preferences' it asks "Do you want the summary screen to close automatically after 10 seconds?" - this is also set to 'No', but the problem persists.

This is an option for the TomTom. If you enter the Options, there should be something about Power Save features. In there, you will see options to shut off the screen, and you can have it do so after a certain time, once a certain speed is reached etc. Just change the time in which it turns itself off to never and you're fixed.

AFTER SETTING TIME COOK TO 1 MIN 60 SEC AND PUSHING START BUTTON 4O SECS MORE IS ADDED, I.E. TOTAL 2 MINS SHOW ON DISPLAY. CAN I RESET THE THE COMPUTER.

There are sixty seconds in a minute, so 1 min 60 sec is the same as 2 min. If you want 40 seconds less than 2 minutes then set it for 1 min 20 sec or for 80 sec.

I turn on my pc and its blank screen on it but before i turned it on i removed fan to change it but all so removed the proccer to get to it and no its blank with no bios please help its all i have...

Try unplugging the cord & resetting the bios by moving jp1 for 15 secs. Them to be sure, remove the bios battery for another 10 secs. Put the battery back, plug it in & see if you get a screen. If you do, press delete to enter BIOS. Rest the time & date & anything else you messed with. If it shuts down again, you're overheating the cpu. Meaning, the fan/heatasink isn't seated all the way or you need to apply new grease/thermal paste. If the latter is required, get artic silver or better. Remove all old grease/paste with a rag. Then re assemble. It takes about 30-60 secs for the cpu to shut down with in adequate cooling.

Hi I have a tomtom one and the problem is that it switches on for a few seconds then goes off with the green light still showing. I have tries charging it for approximately 24 hours and it held its charge...

You "MAY" have to flash the drive. To do this, just hold down the start button for approximately 15 secs. You'll then see a dark screen with different command strings listed, after doing this it should restart itself, if not, then just turn the unit off again & back on to see if it has corrected itself & boots up as normal.

Viewsonic PJ556d shuts down after 30-60 seconds

My solution sounds dumb, I had the same issue. Took the lamp cover off the bottom. The screws were loose holding in the lamp. Maybe they heat and expand and eventually work their way out and the lamp doesn't make good contact. Just tightened mine up, the unit would power off after 45 minutes prior. Been on now for 5 hours, no trouble.

Downloaded 1 CD to Bose 3 2 1. Now system is stuck in continuous rebot mode.

There seems to be some large problem with the drive, where an obstruction within the drive pops up. The solution is to return it or repair it for a new unit. I am disappointed with the Bose team on this one, let's be SURE. So your bet is to steer clear i suppose! maybe try a reciever based Sony HTIB? Thanks! Good Luck!
