This is not the service manual, just the user's. No good for serious issues. Anyone can provide a link to the service manual, please?

Can not boot up computer

possible your hard drive

A hard disk failure can be catastrophic if it jeopardizes the data stored on your computer.

In addition to rendering a laptop inoperable, a failed hard disk can damage other files stored on the drive as well.

It is critical to determine whether an actual drive failure has taken place, and there are several steps to troubleshoot a drive before hard disk failure can be declared.

Unplug any devices such as printers, speakers, cameras and other external peripherals. Boot the laptop by pressing the power key.

If this does not result in a successful boot, try booting Windows in "Safe Mode."

Reboot the computer, and hold down the F8 key this will vary depending on your computer and operating system

From the menu choices, choose "Boot Windows in Safe Mode".

If the boot up progresses, then the computer is likely experiencing a software issue, not a hard drive failure.

Reset the hard drive.

This will involve turning off laptop (removing the battery is a good move, too) opening the laptop unit, and unplugging all connections and cables from the hard drive.

If possible, replace the hard drive with another drive.

This will help determine if the hard drive is causing the problem.

Plug all connections back in to the hard drive, and reboot the computer.

Repeat Step 2 if necessary.

If the computer does not reboot, the laptop is more than likely experiencing a hard drive failure and will probably have to be repaired by vendor.

hope this helps

Iwould like to update this twinhead laptop P90 to a windows 2000 or newer and i would also like to know if i can hook up a portable DVD rom to it as well.

You can put XP on it if you want and yes you can connect a external DVD ROM to the USB port. Its hard to say if the DVD ROM will play well or not though. If the TWINHEAD as a onboard cd drive be sure to set it as your first boot device then the HDD.If it does'nt have a onboard cd drive set it to boot from your USB first then the HDD.Good luck.

Startup Problem with Lenovo 3000 N200 with Vista

You would need to reinstall Vista together with the device drivers and programs to get a laptop functioning again.
You need to backup your data before you reinstall Vista but since you cannot boot up and get into Windows, you need to remove the hard drive and connect it to an USB hard drive adapter and then plug it into a working computer's USB port. This computer should see this hard drive as an external hard drive (provided the hard drive is OK). You can now see the various folders and files, copy your data files to a USB memory stick or burn them to a CD.
Insert the hard drive back into your laptop and then install Vista.

Will not boot ??

sounds like a problem i had with a philips laptop (which appears to be a twinhead repackaged as a philips)

This might sound weird but it works........

Take the battery out and disconnect from the ac
Press and hold the power button for about 40secs
connect the ac but don't replace the battery and press the power button
then replace the battery and turn it on. it should work
