Go to Craftsman, Order Tree or Parts Tree.com and input your model number. Choose the correct tab and go to the mower deck. It will give you a good over view of how the belt routes. Hope this helps.
disconnect the starter and turn the ignition to see if the fuse blows, if it does not then the starter is grounded, but more then likely there is a stripped/bare wire grounding out somewhere. Hope this helped Tim
