Re: Cozy dual sided wall heater

Have to have over 500 millivolts to operate the system. Check your vent pipe need 3 feet out of roof to prevent cold air from getting to unit and cooling down the pilot generator.

Re: Cozy dual sided wall heater

There isn't much to these things, its either the pilot generator or the gas valve. Or maybe both, try the first, then the second.

Cozy gas wall heater won't ignite, pilot light is on

There are two types of igniters, spark-type or glow heater. The glow heaters wear out and crack or break and the spark-type spark gap gets fouled or dirty. Both could have electronics problems that drive the glow heater or spark systems. The Filtrete thermostat is not the issue. While rapping the unit makes the glow igniter come back together to glow again.

What is easy way to replace the thermostate in

Hi, that thermostat should be a wall mount. This heater has only 2 wires and any "Heat only", "millivolt" thermostat will work. Remove the old T-Stat and mount the new one on the wall, only 2 wires and less than a volt so no shock danger, doesn't even matter which wire goes where. Good luck and comment back if you need any help.

Thermostat fails every year

The term "you get what you pay for" applies here. Get a thermostat that at least has a mercury bulb style. the cheap contacts or points style may just need to be cleaned each year. The digital seem to be the best, but there is no need to go over board either. Keep it simple.
