Question about HP LaserJet 2840 All-In-One Printer

When changing the yellow cartridge the machine doesnt recognise it as an HP one - but it is? how can I rectify this as there is now a ? mark in the box on the screen for yellow toner and printer will not print colour?

Might want to purchase new cartridge (you got a bad one) is it a Lexmark cartridge ?. Some models and makes do not like third party cartridges. take alcohol and clean the contacts of chip installed on the cart might dirty so machine can not recongnize the unit,

How do I restart my printer


I had a similar problem with an HP printer. I finally gave up and decided to use only HP cartridges - problem solved. I think there is a little device on the cartridge that allows the printer to detect if you are using an after market or re-filled cartridge. The way the business is set up, the manufacturers make most of their money on the consumables, not the printer itself. So you can see why they would want to "guide" you towards using their ink supplies.

My out of warranty l7680 will not print or photocopy in colour. Printhead status says Refilled supply Detected in printhead Black No/Yellow Yes Magenta Yes/Cyan Yes Detected in Printer Black No/Yellow Yes...


The error states that you are using non-HP cartridges for all colours. If black prints fine then you should replace the colour cartridges with genuine HP colour carts. You should be able to get a refund on the refills since they clearly do not work as intended.

Epson Cartridge wont be recognised by printer


Check for the tape that wraps all the way around the cartridge bottom it usually has a red line on one end like a tab DONOT REMOVE THE ONE THAT LOOKS LIKE WIRES ON IT.... is it still there if so remove it.............MAKE SURE THE CARTRIDGE IS SEATED PROPERLY IT DOESNT TAKE ALOT OF STRENGTH TO INSTALL.....

if the printer is beeping and telling you to install a cartridge it is not recognising the cartridge - there could be a couple of reasons for this - the copper contact strip that goes up the side if the cartridge is either dirty or burned out/defective or its the wrong cartridge. You can try cleaning it with alcohol or windex and wipe it off thoroughly and replacing it.if it is new and this doesnt solve the problem take it back and get another or it is refilled take it back to the store and ask them to test it. If it tests OK or a new cartridge and still doesnt work you can try clening the contacts in the printer where the copper strip makes contact and if all that doesnt work it could be a more serious problem with the printer but in my experience almost all of these issues are cartridge related. If still having issues try taking the whole printer to a cartridge store and ask them to test it

HP will not recognise new cartridge


The problem you are describing with the yellow cartridge sounds like ink starvation possibly due to a clogged print head or an air bubble in the print head. Since the machine is so new I would contact HP to get the print head replaced. As for the magenta cartridge, exchanging it for a new one at the store you bought it from should fix the problem. It sounds like the chip on the one you have is either damaged or wasn't set to read full ink levels.

Change the toner cartridge and see if the problem is rectified. Sounds like a part failure in the cartridge. This can happen at anytime, but more so when the cartridge is at the end of its useful life

Printer won't recognise new ink cartridges and correct itself.


Hi..
try to reset the machine.
disconnect the usb and power cable...and press and hold down the power button for 45 seconds and then reconnect all the cables and try again...
or try to clean the print heads...still does not work...could be an issue with print sensors..needs to be replaces.

HP Business Inkjet 2800 Problem


there is a sensor which recognises the amount of ink u have in ur cart. if that sensor doesnt work, then printer will not recognise the ink in the cart. Try cleaning the copper contacts on the printer cart slot. if no go. look for service..
