Maybe you have the feeddogs down or the stitch length on zero. Or the pressure on the foot needs to be stepped up (but I'm not sure you can do that on that machine).

I have Bernia 180. The bottom thread is puckering. Top thread is perfect. I cannot find help in manual. Please help

Check that the bobbin is inserted turning the proper direction in the bobbin case and that the thread is threaded correctly through the tension control on the bobbin case.

Make sure the upper thread is threaded correctly. The factory standard upper tension setting is midway between high & lower number although this may need to be tweaked for your particular machine.

If the machine is still pulling the bobbin thread too tight, you can try tightening the upper thread tension. If it still isn't resolved, you may need to loosen the bobbin tension.

You might also want to check the presser foot pressure on your machine. That generally needs adjustment when changing from thicker to thinner fabric and vice versa.

Need to download a free repair/service manual for a Bernia 830

Request the repair/service manual directly from Bernia (Bernina?). It may or may not be downloadable.

Is a bernia 801 worth fixing

I would suggest calling a bernina repair shop and ask them how much it will cost to fix the machine and decide if the price is right.

Bernia 730 record stitch lenght

You should have a dial that adjusts the stitch up or down to make it more narrow or lengthen the stitch. Try it on scrap fabric first until you find the stitch you wish. It will stay in that position until you want to change it.

Won't sew, the fabric stays in one spot

is the problem the fabric is not moving forward but staying in one spot? which would mean the feeddogs need to be checked to see what position there in --up for sewing---down for darning
or the thread is not feeding into the machine?

Bernia artiata 730 - problem with hook

If you cannot get the hook back into place, raise the needle to it's highest position and then place the hook into the shuttle with the point of the hook at the bottom left. It should stay put as you return the retention ring or levers.

If this isn't the issue, please provide more information.

Bernia machine tread tension will not adjust

Thread the machine with the presser foot up. This will open the tension control. Set the tension to around 4 and then lower the presser foot to see if this helps. If not, you need a certified Bernina repair person to take a look at the machine.

How do I put my Bernia sewing machine in it's permanent cabinet?

I have the 1130 when it was new and there wasn't a cabinet.

Is this something like you are referring to?

You will note that not all brands/models will work with this particular brand/model of cabinet.

I have the same problem my windows xp and Bernia emb.

I kept an older, XP laptop with paralell port just for embroidery and machine knitting software programs. Bernina, etc, never have up to date drivers unless you buy the current stuff - very poorly supported considering the costs involved.

At one point, the Hasp4 driver upgrade was posted on the bernina site and on the alladin site - 2004 o4 2005. The alladin (sp?) site still has hasp4 drivers available for download, but they are newer, and I don't know if they will work for you.

I will try and find my older hasp4 upgrade, although my searches have produced nothing so far, and I am not sure exactly what the file was called.
