Question about Washing Machines
I have a beko 1510s washing machine and its been great for the past 4 years. A couple of weeks ago it got noisy but still working, then yesterday I went to take some clothes out and some where dripping others bone dry so I turned it on again to see what happens. The drum wasn't spinning so this morning I got up expecting to find the belt had snapped or something but when opening the back it had just come off and is undamaged so I put it back on (sore fingers) tried the cycle again and the drum spun for all of 60seconds then stopped I heard it pop off so I repeated the whole process again thinking I was being a girl about the whole thing, But again once on it lasted seconds then popped off again. Please help!
The noise is possibly the bearings, if these are loose the tension on the belt will not be kept, no tension the belt will fall off. you have to check the bearings, empty the drum of clothes and lift the rim of the drum you should feel a loosness before the tub moves. Drum is the stainless steel bit Tub is the plastic but the drum sits in. if this (as I suspect) very loose your bearings are gone, alternativeley if not it could be the belt tension thats too loose, you might have some adjustment on the motor bracket for this or a new belt. but if the bearinings its cheaper to replace the machine than the bearings due to labour costs. insurance may cover it?
