How to access euro symbol on gateway laptop?

Hold ALT and press 0128 on your number pad (right side of keyboard). That should create the Euro symbol.

I have just bought a MX5500 keyboard and mouse. As a UK citizen I need to be able to type a pound sign and a euro sign but this is a US keyboard. Can you help

Unfortunately, a US keyboard is set up to send out keycodes for the US symbols. If you're using Windows 7, this information from Microsoft may be helpful. For XP, you can try changing your regional settings in the Control Panel (Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options). You can try changing the keyboard layout and see what happens.

One sure way to get the symbols from any keyboard is by using alt codes. Hold down the ALT key and (on the numeric pad) press 0128 for the Euro symbol (€). ALT-0163 gives you the Pound Sterling symbol (£).

+keyboard with Acer AspireE500-A970. How do I access the Euro symbol (lower case with Number 4) on the keyboard? Arthur

To type the Euro sign in Windows, you press the alt key+0128. As for the Sterling pound symbol, you can type it by pressing the alt key+0163. You can have a look at this site where it lists ways to type different currency symbols:
http://www.fonts.com/fontent/fontent_home.asp?nCo=AFMT&con=fyti_currency

Please note that you have to type the 4-digit code on the numeric keypad (do not use the normal number keys) while holding down the Alt key.

Hope this helps.

The euro symbol is under the 5, how do i type this?

Hello,

The keyboard shortcut for the € symbol is Alt Gr + 5. However if this does not work, you may also enter the following key combination : Alt+0128.

You have to maintain the Alt key pressed while entering the 0128 code.

Hope this helps you.

Which key(s) do I need to type to get the Euro symbol indicated on the numeric 5 key? Shift gives me %. But there is the Euro symbol in the righthand corner.

Have you tried ALT+0128 on the keypad?

I've also seen info about CTR+ALT+4.
Since you have the symbol on the keys, however, you should be able to press CTRL and ALT simultaneously and as you hold them down, just press the key with the little symbol on it...
Hope this helps.. ;-)

€ = right ALT + "E" (or, left CTRL + ALT + "E")
