Hi, I was reading the screen and held down the right hand shift key and a box with filter keys popped up pressed ok thinking it would close but know my keyboard will not type I have looked in the hardware section it says that the keyboard is working fine I must have locked it some how any ideas how to fix

If you accidentally held down the shift key for more than 8 seconds (could have left something on your keyboard?) then it will lock it out to where you can't use it. Just go to the start menu and then settings, then control panel and then finally accessibility options. Make sure all the 3 boxes are unchecked. (Sticky keys, Filter keys, and Toggle keys)
What I want to know is how did you type this question in the first place if your keyboard isn't working.

access center. Click on the keyboard icon. It will say, "make the
keyboard easier to use" next to it. In some versions of Windows you will
need to get to the option by pressing the left shift key five times

To print a copy of the screen on your printer. Hold down the Alt key and then press the PrtScr key. Open Word - a blank document - click on the page, then click on Edit - Paste, this will place the screen image on the page. You can enlarge the image by holding down the shift key and click on the right hand corner of the image and drag it down to the right to make it as large as you require. By holding down the shift key, it will maintain the correct image proportion. you can now add text and print this document.
Well, to deactivate the filterkeys; press Shift Key 5 times and when the Stickykeys dialog box pops up, click "settings" and remove the tick mark from the "use filterkey" (If you want to use your keyboard as normal, the uncheck all the ticked marks) click "Apply" > "Ok" and check the changes.
