you can see the white 5 pin plug at the bottom right and to the left you can just make out the 5 cables

There are only four wires in a USB. Let me know if you think that your connector has more wires.

The thick black wire is for shielding the current signals.
From your diagram, it appears that the configuration is:

THICK BLACK, RED, WHITE, GREEN, THIN BLACK. (from left to right)

    Try it and report back.

    As a test, there is
+5 V DC present between the terminals for red and thin black wires.

Use a mulitimeter to check the voltage. Insert +ve terminal inside the left most terminal of the connector on board. Insert the -ve terminal of the voltmeter inside the second-to-the-right-most terminal and you should have
    +5 V DC.
You will need to supply power to the board to perform this test.

Also, look closely at the connector joints. Two of the connectors my be connected together.

Please let me know your findings.

If the first wiring order did not help then it must be this one:

RED, WHITE, GREEN, THICK BLACK, THIN BLACK.

    OR

THIN BLACK, THICK BLACK, GREEN, WHITE, RED.

The multimeter should report + 5 V DC between thin black and red wire terminals.

Can you please elaborate on your problem? Your problem was initially about how to plug-in the USB. Now you state that the connections are OK. If the connections are alright then the touchscreen should work. Please elaborate.

What is the problem now. Were you unable to connect the wires correctly?

Looking at the specs for your TV, it does not appear to have the jack for earphones.

You will have to connect an audio receiver to your TV and use the reciever's jack.

Looking for a control pod.

I recently had a similar problem. In my case the left speaker had no sound. Finally traced the problem to a broken wire inside the control pod plug, which I destroyed by dissecting it. For those who have the experience, or know someone who does, purchase a new plug, which a Mini DIN 8 pin (RS-422 standard). It should be available at any good electronic parts store. Solder new plug on to cable, which requires a fine electronic soldering iron and a fair bit of skill (the wires are very fine).

Look at the plug (from the rear); you will see it comprises a top row of 3 pins equaly spaced; a middle row of 3 pins (there is room for 4 pins but one pin is missing just left of centre); a bottom row of 2 pins. I numbered these as follows:

8 o 7 o 6 o

5 o 4 o 3 o

2 o 1 o

The wire from the controller comprises 8 coloured cores and a bare core. The wiring of the eight cores are as follows:
DIN CORE PCB
pin 8 - brown 8
pin 7 - red 7
pin 6 - orange 6
pin 5 - yellow 5
pin 4 - green 4
pin 3 - blue 3
pin 2 - white 2
pin 1 - black 9
body clamp - bare wire - G

In case your coloured cores vary from mine I have also listed the pin each one goes to on the printed circuit board plug, which will let you identify the colours.

How do you connect a pioneer d2 navigation system to a 2006 ford expedition entertainment system

You need to identify the four wires that carry the DVD audio in the factory plug, and re-wire them to RCA plugs that can be used with the Auxiliary input RCA jacks on your Pioneer unit. The four wires should be: Left (+) light green Left (-) white Right (+) red Right (-) black The easiest way is to purchase some inexpensive RCA cables (or better yet, speaker wire with RCA ends). Cut the cables and wire the center pin conductor wires to the (+) audio wires in the stock plugs, and connect the outer shield conductors to the (-) wires. Then connect the RCA plugs to your head unit's auxiliary input jacks.
