Question about Apple iPhone 3G
After breaking the screen on my iphone my friend ordered a new one over the internet for me, we removed the old broken one and have attached the new screen making sure all the connectors fit but now there is nothing on the screen except a very faint bar at the top showing the battery bar. Could it be that the LCD was damaged when we changed the screen or is it more likely to be the connectors? We've taken it off and put it back on and still no different. Are there different screens for differnt iphones?!
Looks like your backlight is broken, if you had the same issue before it could be a broken logic board. The screen is not too hard to replace or to reconnect. There is a stepby step guide too that explains a little bit at eachstep how todisassemble the iphone properly : iPhone screen repair. There are also third party iphone repair companies that do it for you.
